Jim Mackey

Jim returned to his substantive role as Chief Executive of Northumbria Healthcare in November 2017, a post he previously held for ten years. He was welcomed back after completing a two year secondment in a national role as Chief Executive of the NHS Improvement.

Mr Mackey joined the NHS in 1990 and has held a variety of roles in strategic leadership positions. During this time he has participated in a number of reviews and national projects, including the Dalton Review in 2014.

Natalie Douglas 

With over 20 years of international experience in the healthcare sector having worked for companies such as Johnson & Johnson, IDIS and currently as CEO of Healthcare at Home Ltd. Natalie holds the position of Non-Executive Director at California based Global Genes, one of the world’s leading rare disease patient advocacy organisations. 

Previously Non-Executive Director at Shield Therapeutics, a Swiss-based pharmaceutical company focused on the development of a novel therapy for the treatment of iron deficiency anaemia.

David Loughton

Mr Loughton joined The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust in 2004 having had extensive experience as a Chief Executive within the NHS. During his career he has developed a new Medical School with Warwick University and achieved financial close on a £400 million new hospital Private Finance Initiative (PFI). He has now turned around one of the 17 most financially challenged Trusts in the NHS, whilst improving the quality of care provided to patients. Mr Loughton is a member of the National Institute for Health Research Advisory Board and West Midlands Chief Executive representative for the NHS Confederation Council.

Ian Smith

With a career spanning healthcare, publishing, construction, strategy consulting and logistics, Ian Smith has over 40 years’ experience leading highly complex multinational companies. He has been the Chief Executive of organisations ranging from FTSE 100 companies to professional partnerships.

Previously Chairman at Kings College and Executive Chairman of Four Seasons Heath Care and Chief Executive of the General Healthcare Group, he has an in-depth knowledge of the health care system and patient needs especially in terms of acute, psychiatric and elderly care.
